Where they come from. Most themes are built by people who make themes. Ours come from ten years of being paid to make other people's stores sell, so the merchandising and conversion decisions were made under real pressure before they became settings.

We watched it happen. A hundred client stores across apparel, beauty, homeware and more means we have seen which layouts move product and which ones only photograph well. What made it into the themes is what kept working across all of them, not what looked best in a portfolio.

Motion and imagery get a performance budget the same as anything else we build, and whatever costs more than it gives back does not ship. The score above comes from testing against a large catalog.

Ursus is themes only. Bearplus handles bespoke work, so if a theme cannot get you there, tell us what you need and we will say plainly whether we are the right studio for it.

Yes, though we would rather ship few and maintain them properly than release a new one every quarter. Each theme we publish is one we intend to support for years.
